I'm in favour of the bicycle Idaho stop. That is to say, tread stop signs as yields. Doesn't mean blowing through them, just means you don't have to come to a complete stop and put your foot down. I cyclist requires a significant amount of energy to get back to speed and a cyclist has a phenominal field of view to see what's happening. A vehicle has many blind spots.
